PHASE 1: Skills Training

Module 1 – Communication: The PCLA Model

Relationship, Coaching and Leadership; Three dynamic focuses and a 5-step process of Communication, Connection, Commitment, Collaboration and Celebration are the elements of the PCLA Model.    We will learn the 5 phases of relationship development and how to use Coaching and Leadership skills combined with the 5-step process to support thriving relationship.

Module 2 – Connection: Facilitating Self Discovery

Having a basic understanding of the stages of relationship development, we will be looking through the lens of self in Module 2.  What does your ‘self-relationship’ look like?  What stage of relationship development are you in right now?  In this module, the instructors are the ‘coach’ and you are the ‘client’, experiencing much of what your clients will be experiencing when you work with them on their own self-discovery.  While you will be participating, you will be learning valuable skills to use with others.

Module 3 – Commitment: KSA’s – Knowledge, Skill and Attitudes of Coaching and Leadership

In Module 3 we will focus on the art and science of the ICF’s 8 Coaching Core Competencies and PCLA’s 5 Leadership Practices. We will learn a framework to support your learning of what is needed in the Coaching Engagement as well as the Coaching Session.   We will explore what coaching skills and leadership practices are most needed at each stage of relationship development and what that actually looks like when implemented.

Module 4 – Collaboration: Facilitating Other’s Discovery

We are now going to take what we learned in Module 2 & 3 and apply it to ‘other’ in Module 4. Our focus shifts to supporting others in their journey of self-discovery, learning and growth.  With the toolbox full of Coaching skills, leadership practices and a knowledge base of relationship development, we are now ready to partner with our clients in a thought-provoking relationship with the purpose of helping them to reach their potential.

Module 5 – Celebration: Integration

In our final module, participants integrate all the material they’ve learned. Exploration of the model through the lens of self, others (people we coach), and the workplace or community at large helps to deepen the learning. This is a model that works with one on one relationship or relationship in groups or teams. Participants will learn advanced skills of acknowledgement, encouragement, and championing to inspire others in passionate and purposeful work.

PHASE II: Designing Passion Project

In this phase, PCLA Participants will begin designing their passion projects.  PCLA Coach Trainers will facilitate discussions in Modules 4 and 5 to support the participants exploration of their passion project.

PHASE III: Mentoring and Passion Project Phase
